Party Collection

.Many of my ideas for evening dresses derive from the History of clothing

Through my research of The Folklore garments of Asian and Middle Eastern peoples’, I created my own interpretation developing a contemporary line

I have been fascinated with the  symbolism and meaning  of  traditional     clothing and the development of pattern making through the ages.

.The first evening dress I designed was the Half dress

The idea originated from the Indian tradition of  having the shoulders exposed which is considered  provocative, but revealing your tummy or hip is in the norm. Even today, you can distinguish a married women from an unmarried through
her dress codes.

Usually I make the evening dresses made to order, so I would adjust the lines of the dress   to your figure, choosing  the exact positioning of the vertical line, the shape of the cleavage, length of dress and so on...

This dress can be  made in a knit ( as pictured  here), or in a fabric:giving it             a more tailored look, using my

The traditional Tibetan  Chupa was the inspiration  for this dress.
Each dress is a OOAK since I use different
trimmings and embroidery strips, which  I have collected during my travels
worldwide,

In this dress I have been experimenting with geometrical shapes : triangular , rectangle and  trapeze. Combined them into  contrasting  soft & stiff fabrics .  It's my favorite way to invent a new design..
The attached scarf has been inspired by the traditional Sarong worn in so many different cultures. It is attached to the back and there are a few variations on the theme.

The Arabian Night Dress is my best seller,
I am still amazed how one dress can be flattering to so many different shaped women  and their individual  sizes

Even though I have sold so many of these dresses, not one set resembles the other, since I combine different color  waistbands & brocade belts.  The color combination of the dress itself also is varied  with the  under layer.
:Here too, there are a few ways to wear this dress

It is important to me that you will feel comfortable  wearing  Shihar's Evening Collection   , so you can dance and enjoy your event, and not worry about your dress or the way you
look .

As a conscious being, I care that you will be able to enjoy the dress after the event too,  purchasing a garment for long term use, therefore there
are different ways you can mix and match the versatile  items.

Looking back through the  history of folklore clothing not only  inspires me  ,but   also helps me to  visualize the future of clothing with new ideas for
futuristic designs, and that's exciting!

...I Would love to hear from you and find out
what your sources of inspiration are!
or any other thoughts you may of had while reading this post
